Description

We are a historical house and garden devoted to the memories and creativity of Luther Burbank gardener.

When Luther Burbank’s widow Elizabeth passed away, she gave up the house and gardens in Santa Rosa. A voluntary organization was created to manage the house-museum and the exhibition gardens. The plan is now managed by a non-profit council and a volunteer organization that offers guided tours, a museum and souvenir store, and gardens.

Burbank House. Luther Burbank lived in this converted house in the style of Greek Renaissance from 1884 to 1906.

Carriage House. Initially it was a storage place for cars and horse carriages, in 1986 the house was repaired as a museum. The museum house contains objects related to the lifestyle and business of Burbank, a souvenir store and an excursion office.

Orangery. The structure, projected and built by Luther Burbank in 1889, includes changing showpieces and contains a copy of his cabinet, where many of his instruments are kept.

Seasonal programs

Guests may enjoy free visits to the carriage museum and souvenir store throughout the season from April to October, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 16:00 Doctor-led excursions run every half hour and the last tour starts at 15:30.
