Just a few generations ago, two beautiful women named Elizabeth lived on this street and worked in the garden. They made Ridgewood Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina one of the most famous addresses in Southern Garden history. Their legacy adds an outdoor garden to their entertainment.
Wing Haven Garden and Bird Sanctuary is owned by Elizabeth Clarkson and Edwin Clarkson and is a haven for birds and other wildlife and a great place to discover natural beauty and wonders.
Next to 10 streets is the Elizabeth Lawrence House and Garden, owned by famed garden writer Elizabeth Lawrence, a collection of flora and fauna that blooms every day of the year and is a living laboratory.
SEED Wildlife and Children’s Garden is adjacent to Wing Haven Garden and Bird Sanctuary and is an outdoor exploration and learning garden suitable for children of all ages.
Wing Haven Garden is a combination of historic buildings and new buildings and is known as a unique place to inspire a passion for nature.
