The Georgia Botanical Garden is located approximately 70 miles east of Atlanta, Georgia, and only a short drive from downtown Athens. The Georgia Botanical Garden is a department of the University of Georgia’s Public Service Development Department and is one of Georgia’s most valuable assets, with free admission and parking.

The Children’s Garden offers interesting experiential information on the flora, fauna, geography, geology, art and history of Georgia.

Spend a few hours strolling the exhibition garden and gift shop or talking to volunteers at reception to find recommended attractions.

  • Let’s start with the Tropical Visitor Center.
    The visitor center is a good place to fit into the park. You can pick up the map, ask the gardener for advice at the help desk, or pick up the activity guide for young children.
  • Walk in the theme park
    Did you know that the Georgia Botanical Garden is made up of different types of gardens? The Heritage Garden is an important collection of plants from our area.

  • Take a nature trail
    The garden has more than five miles of nature trails, many of which follow the middle course of the O’Connie River. You can see various native plants, trees and wild animals and plants.
  • Visit Children’s Garden
    Kids Garden opened in 2019 and aims to lead fun learning in a hands-on environment. Kids can explore the shape of the roots on the ground, crawl on cobwebs, discover new vegetables, dig dinosaur bones and explore the hidden world to explore.
  • Visit the Georgia Gardening Club Headquarters
  • One day visit to the church
    This beautiful and private church was constructed on the side of a natural slope leading to the heart of the Oconee River. The Day Chapel is encircled by trees and built with cypresses, which is incredibly beautiful and inspiring.
  • Visit cafe
    This is a cafe that offers light meals such as sandwiches, light meals and drinks.
  •  Visit the gift store
    In the gift shop, you can find plant-themed art by local artists, handmade soaps, wax candles, honey.
