Schoepfle Garden is part of the Lorraine County Metro Park. It was originally a private garden, founded by the local newspaper Otto Schoepfle in 1936, and now has 20 acres of natural walkways, roses, daisies, mixed borders, annual colorful flower beds, reed, etc. of unique wood specimens come from all over the world. In 2007, a musical-themed children’s garden was added and a seasonal carousel was activated.
Plus, there are some well-maintained trails among 40 acres of natural forest and river valleys. The visitor center provides maps, restrooms, and seasonal gift shops. The garden is open all year round, in summer from 8:00 to 20:00 and in low season from 8:00 to 16:30. Free admission.
