From the beginning, Nathan and Jesse Kimberly Paine’s ultimate goal was to design properties that exhibit exceptional architecture, furniture, artwork and natural beauty and open them to the public for education and culture.
Penn House has 20 garden areas that the public can enjoy and learn. In keeping with the historic building, the garden design creates an open “room” displaying a variety of plants. Like the rooms and galleries of Payne House, the garden is designed to create a variety of occasions, from privacy to spectacle.
In the garden with the villa as a backdrop, perennials and climate-friendly Wisconsin trees, shrubs and wildflowers are displayed. The annual bulb exhibits change each year, introducing new varieties and unusual combinations to inspire gardening enthusiasts at all levels.
Escape the historic manor house with breathtaking botanical gardens, classical European architecture, intricate art collections, ever-changing art exhibits and unforgettable seasonal events. Payne is open 24/7 and offers a variety of inspirations throughout the four seasons.
