Description

Located inRingwood State Park, the New Jersey Botanical Garden features 96 acres of signature gardens, 1,000 acres of woodland, with magnificent views of the Ramapo Mountains and Skylands Manor. The garden is full of specialized plants, evergreen plants, deciduous trees and shrubs. Of particular interest are the Apple Club Vista, the Terrace Garden, the Perennial Garden, the Annual Garden and the Woodland Pass. Skylands Manor, designed by John Russell Pope for stockbroker and civil engineer Clarence McKensie Lewis, it resembles Manor in the English countryside some 400 years ago. This 44-room villa was built in the 1920s, using rough stone and half wood to blend in with the landscape.
