The magnolia plantation founded by the Drayton family in 1676 has witnessed the American Revolution, Civil War and US history and has a history of hundreds of years. It is Lowcountry’s oldest public tourist attraction and the oldest public garden in the United States. It was opened to tourists in 1870 and thousands of beautiful flowers and plants can be admired in its famous garden.
