Living Desert Zoo and Garden is located in the Palm Desert. It is a unique zoo and botanical garden dedicated to the deserts of the world. Its mission is to protect the desert through conservation, education and appreciation.
From Africa to North America, you’ll find more than 450 fantastic animals in the wild, including pumas, leopards, desert warthogs, bighorn sheep, and peninsula pronghorns. You can feed giraffes, watch cheetahs run around, admire zebras, mimic mongooses, interact with goats, explore nature, and more.
The enthralling botanical garden includes geographic replicas of several regions, including Baja California’s Viscaino Desert and the exotic deserts of Madagascar. The Interactive Discovery Center also offers some of the largest G-class model train exhibits in the world, wildlife animal shows, nature trail hikes, and cafe lunches.
