The “Jewel Box” completed in 1936 has been visited by many people looking for exceptional decorative art designs. The unique structure of supporting the glass with an arched steel frame is technically revolutionary. After a $ 3.5 million renovation, the “jewel box” has been opened and “shining” again. The windows have been repaired and cleaned, and the “jewel box” is once again the “jewel” of the forest park. The jewel sparkled with hundreds of flowers. The everlasting flowers are planted by Flora Conservancy at Forest Park, a team of gardening volunteers and gardeners from the park department.
The jewelry box is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 16:00, Friday from 9:00 to 15:00, Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 and Sunday from 9:00 to 14:00 Open to the public. The entrance fee is $ 1 per person, but it’s free on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00 am to noon.
The jewelry box is located at the intersection of Wells Drive and McKinley Drive in Forest Park.
