Hildene is the ancestral home built in 1905 by Robert Lincoln, the president’s son.
The garden itself is very charming. From early to mid-June, more than 1,000 peonies bloomed in the formal garden. This phenomenon known as the “Peony Festival” was named ABA’s “Top 100 Races”.
The garden is designed as a stained glass window, the private one is in lead and the flowers are in glass. In summer, indigo-colored plants bloom instead of peonies. Behind the original reception center of the shed are the vegetable garden, the butterfly garden, the cutting garden, the vegetable garden and the panoramic garden.
Lunches, garden PowerPoint presentations, and questions and answers with Hilden Gardeners are additional options that are popular with groups. In Hilden, you can also find Lincoln’s house, President Lincoln’s hat, exhibits, goat’s milk products, cheese making facilities, a 1903 Pullman Palace car, a welcome center, and a deluxe shop. museum.
