Description

The American Rose Center’s magnificent garden is set in 118 acres of woodland near Shreveport, Louisiana. This garden houses the national headquarters of the American Rose Center. We are the largest professional rose park in the United States. In 1974, when the American Rose Society headquarters moved from Columbus, Ohio to Shreveport, Louisiana, the garden was used. Today, the American Rose Center has grown a variety of roses in many gardens, including the beautiful Dudley Watkins Reflecting Pool and numerous supporting plants, sculptures and fountains.

When you visit the garden, you will feel the tranquil atmosphere of the cathedral, created by the tall pine trees that surround the garden area. There are many attractions during the garden season. Depending on the weather, the best time to see roses and rose gardens is from mid-April to the end of May and from mid-September to the end of October.

The opening hours of the American Rose Center and Herring Souvenir Shop are:
Garden Season: Monday to Friday 9pm to 4pm, Saturdays 9pm to 5pm, Sunday 1pm to 5pm (excluding federal holidays)

Low season: 9-5 days from Monday to Friday, excluding federal holidays.
