Blithewold Gardens is a 33-acre summer estate in Bristol, with stunning views over Narragansett Bay. Being one of the most serious and true examples of rural areas in American history, it is of great importance. There are 45 rooms with family heirlooms, surrounded by various beautiful gardens, ranging from the mysterious to the exotic, from the poetic to the practical.
The collection of rare plants, exemplary trees, accessible greenhouses and whimsical stone carvings create a romantic, fresh and inspiring Blithewold character. Blithewold’s mission is to protect New England’s best gardens through excellent gardening techniques and historic building conservation, and to serve as a role model to educate and inspire people.
