The Arboretum and Community Garden

Contact

The Arboretum and Community Garden is a great gateway for sharing the educational wealth of the University of California with the local society and advocating ecological awareness. More than 100 acres of Arboretum demonstration gardens and floral collections - plus over 5,000 acres of campus scenery - encourage kids and grown-ups in the world of nature, showcase good sustainability gardening practices, offer student interns the chance to lead, and offer academic excellence to students, teachers and campus attendees.

UC Davis Arboretum Park and Community Garden's vision is reflected in a large project called Project UC Davis GATEways (Gardens, Arts and Environment), which links the education of UC Davis students with community participation through various open-air programs and complimentary guest programmes. The Arboretum and Community Gardens have created a very effective environmental student management program known as Learning by Leading™ to provide undergraduate students with the tools and expertise they need to address global environmental challenges.
