Isamu Noguchi's California Scenario, established by the Segerstrom family in 1979 and finished in 1982, has been acknowledged as one of the most outstanding sculpture gardens in the country and the most important oasis of outdoor sculpture in Southern California. As one of the artist's most significant community sculpture gardens, his artwork represents the various territorial characteristics of California, including local herbs and materials.
The six main items incorporate the California Scenario: forest walk, land use, desert land, water source, water management and energy fountain. The heart of the garden is the "Spirit of Lima Beans", a sculpture consisting of precious pieces and consists of 15 rust-colored granite stones carved in perfect harmony with each other. This sculpture was designed in honor of Henry T. Segerstrom's friendship with the artist Isamu Noguchi and the Segerstrom family, helped to contribute to Southern California's agricultural heritage.
